| Climb Mt Eden (the highest point of the city). Walked up Maungawhau the extinct volcano for a fantastic 360 degree view of the city. see some of the 48 volcanoes surrounding Auckland . |

| a pretty historic village of Puhoi, with its´ Roman Catholic church, rolling hills, and wild Lilies. The village was settled in 1863 by people from villages in Bohemia, attracted by offers of free land. |

| Bay Of Plenty |

| Canterbury |

| The Coromandel is more a summer beach destination than a winter spot. Small communities that have little to offer (i.e. dinning, bar, entertainment, recreation, etc….), but beaches. |

| the city is famous for its´ architecture. The inner city was rebuilt in this style following an earthquake and fire in 1931. |

| Abel Tasman is the smallest national park in New Zealand, but the most frequently visited and for good reason. It has beautiful beaches, you can boat or kayak on the water, and there is a coastal walking track that takes about 4 days of complete. |

| This is a very historic area as this is where the signing of the Witangi treaty took place in 1840 and the birthplace of the Nation. This signing had huge significant impact on the future of Nz, joining the people as ´one united nation´. |

| Otago |

| The landscape (natural and manmade) was so very dull and dingy it was nearly a depressant. The aluminum smelter dominated the windswept beach environment. |

| visit the Otago Peninsula for some super wildlife, The Royal Albatross, the largest bird in the world nests on the peninsula. |

| Queenstown/Southern Lakes District |

| an easy 20min trip from Queenstown, Arrowtown has character and history. autumn´s a good time. |

| the drive to Milford is a stunning set of reflective lakes, snow-caps, glaciars, waterfalls (some frozen!), and lovely mountain valleys. To be honest, I found the drive to Milford more beautiful than the sound itself. |

| Punakaiki isn’t really a town, more of a place, but there the Pancake Rocks (made of very thin layers of compressed rock that give them a pancake-ish look) were neat to see. I didn’t think I could be so entertained by various rock formations |
